Thubelihle Youth Club (TYC) is a legally recognized non-profit performing arts organisation. It has been in business for 14 years and is headquartered in Witbank, South Africa. It aims to discover, develop, expose and nurture talent. Children and young people in our community have the chance to express their artistic abilities and pursue their passions through the Thubelihle Youth Club. Additionally, the organisation fosters the growth of local artists by providing them with opportunities to participate in arts and culture festivals and go to auditions in Mpumalanga and other provinces. The organization maintains a strong African heritage while incorporating inspirations from contemporary and cultural arts. We cover a wide range of genres, including isibujwa dance, traditional dances, drama, and gumboot dance.
The organisation comprises approximately 30 members and continues to grow annually. Additionally, the organization keeps young people off the streets, which lowers the likelihood that they may abuse alcohol or use drugs. As an organization, we are leading the charge against drug use and substance misuse among young people, and we have found that performing arts are an effective way to inspire our children who don't have access to recreational opportunities, the very youngsters who find an escape route in Nyaope and other drugs. Thubelihle
youth club draws a multi-talented and multi-cultural cast which showcases the togetherness of the different
races and cultures of the people in our country and how they integrate their traditional dances. It also
tells of the historical treasure trove.
